Suicide Bombers Strike, Killing 6 in North-east Nigeria

Four suicide bombers, two females and males, on Friday struck in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, with one detonating a bomb when intercepted by security personnel.

The spokesman of the police, Victor Isuku, in a statement said that the incident happened at 3:50am on Friday at Jiddari Polo area of the troubled town.He said: By 3:50am yesterday, mobile police personnel on guard duty opposite the Federal High Court, Jiddari Polo area of Maiduguri, sighted four suspected suicide bombers (two females & a male) running towards their sandbag. They ordered them to a halt for questioning. In the process, one of them detonated the IED strapped to her body, killing herself and two other male accomplice.

At least Six persons were killed in Friday’s suicide attacks on Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, the Commissioner of Police, Damian Chukwu, told journalists. Addressing a press conference, he said in one of the explosions three suicide bombers and three members of youth vigilance group, popularly called Civilian JTF, were killed in the early morning triple explosion, He however said: “Normalcy has already been restored.”
